This month the funeral has been held for Jon Underwood - Founder of Death Cafe - A wonderful movement that encourages people to discuss life and the inevitability of death. They regularly address the reasons why we fear talking about such topics, and instead use it as a way to bring an awareness and a way of acceptance. Death cafes have become increasingly popular worldwide and helped so many people come to terms with life and death.
There is something lovingly British about softening such a taboo subject with the tea and cake.
"He lived every day reflecting very consciously on the fact that none of us know how long we have, and focused completely on being present in, and making the most of every minute." Donna Molloy - Jon's Widow.
Jon's Death Cafe legacy will continue through his sister and mother.
