Week 1 of #MarchMeetTheMaker

Day 1 • Y O U • English Made Coffins is a small team of designers & makers, headed by Will Mason. Will is a qualified furniture designer and cabinetmaker with over 25 years of furniture making experience. Since 2009 Will has been making coffins with an emphasis on good design and quality craftsmanship

Day 2 • W H E R E •

English Made Coffins is in the small country town of Leominster in Herefordshire. You may know Hereford for its amazing Cathedral that houses one of the world's first maps Mappa Mundi & the Chained Library. Also renowned for its Hereford cattle, rolling hills & of course its cider

Day 3 • H O W I T S T A R T E D •

English Made Coffins grew as a result of Will wanting to give something beautiful as a last gift to his beloved wife Helen and family members. Finco Snow Ltd was born • Finco - Fine Coffins

• Snow - To pay respect to Helen Mason & her love for snow

Day 4 • F A V O U R I T E T O M A K E •

The Keepsake Butterfly Inspired by Helen Mason's love of butterflies and their strong connection with the transformation of the soul. In many cultures butterflies represent life, hope, endurance and change, be that spiritually or emotionally. The Keepsake Butterflies are fitted with a simple pin system and are easily detachable so they can be kept after the ceremony as a keepsake in memory of a loved one.

Day 5 • P H O T O G R A P H Y •

We like to keep our website & social media photos simple, without too much dressing up in order to let the coffin designs speak for themselves.. However, Will & the team do love a bit of a photography competition when the light is just right or the spray booth textures are just too tactile to not photograph and when the wood grain figuring is far too mesmerising. Swipe to see a small selection of our efforts..

Day 6 • W O R K S P A C E • Our workspaces have been designed specifically for prototyping and making our coffins. It is very important to keep them clean and organised between jobs helping to ensure a good professional working environment.

Day 7 • R O U T I N E • Keeping to a routine is so very important. From designing to making, assembling, finishing, marketing, taking the orders to delivering, all of this must have a thoroughly practiced routine. This is to ensure all of our coffins are delivered on time, to our exceptionally high standards. The finished product is so very important, it must be right.
